ALKALOID AND PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS

FROM THE STEMS OF GOUANIA JAVANICA MIQ.

Summary

Five compounds were isolated from the stems of Gouania javanica Miq. collected in Dongnai province, including nuciferine (1), nuciferine N-oxide (2), lysicamine (3), vanillic acid (4), and scopoletin (5). The structures of these compounds were established by MS and NMR (1D- and 2D-NMR) spectral methods and by comparison with the published data. This is the first time these compounds were isolated from Gouania genus.
