Summary

Cansjera rheedei J.F.Gmel. belongs to the family Opiliaceae, which is distributed in the regions of southern Asia. Research on this plant’s chemical constituents has been limited to the identification of several common phenolic compounds. This phytochemical study was conducted on the stems of C. rheedei to isolate five lignans and one neolignan. The chemical structures of six isolated compounds were elucidated by using spectral data analyses and comparison with those in references, leading to the determination of alyterinate A (1), alyterinate B (2), (+)-pinoresinol (3), (+)-medioresinol (4), (+)-syringaresinol (5), and balanophonin (6). All of them were reported for the first time from the genus Cansjera.
