Summary
Quantitative Analysis of Schisandrin in Fruit of Schisandra sphenanthera Collected
in Ngoc Linh by HPLC
In this study, an analytical HPLC method was established for quantification of schisandrin from fruits of Schisandra sphenanthera collected in Ngoc Linh mountain, Kon Tum province. Samples were prepared by ultrasonic extraction with ethanol. The method was carried out by using a Zorbax Eclipse XDB - C18 (250 × 4.6mm; 5µm) column with solvent system of acetonitrile-water (60:40, v/v) and UV detection at 254 nm. The calibration curves showed good linear regression within the concentration ranges of 0.1-200 (µg/mL) (r2 = 1.000). The limits of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) were 0.03 and 0.1 µg/mL for schisandrin. The developed method have also been applied for quantification of schisandrin in different Schisandra sphenanthera fruit samples collected in Ngoc Linh Mountain, Kontum Province, Vietnam. The content of schisandrin was ranged from 0.270 ± 0.03 to 0.399 ± 0.02 of dried materials.
