Summary

The species of Panax L. in Vietnam

Actually, 5 species of Panax L. are recognized in Vietnam. Among them, Panax bipinnatifidus Seem.,  P. stipuleanatus Tsai et Feng and P. vietnamensis Ha et Grushv. occur wildly. Otherwise, P. pseudoginseng Wall. and P. ginseng Meyer are imported plants for cultivation.

P. stipuleanatus Tsai et Feng is considered as a new species of Vietnam, and the pharmaceutical material named “Tam that” in the market belongs to Panax notoginseng (Burk.) Chen.
