Study on Anti- Polyarthritis Effect of Radix Achyranthis bidentatae

The Streptococcus pyogenes-induced polyarthritis model in rats was applied for testing antipolyarthritis activity of Radix Achyranthis bidentatae. The results showed that Radix Achyranthis bidentatae having been inhibited polyarthritis by 46.73% (p<0.05) after 16-21 days of treatment period and Radix Achyranthis bidentatae not fumigated with sulfur but only  dried in the sun or by electronic equipment showed antipolyarthritis effect weakly  in comparison with control inflamed group after the same treatment  period
