Summary
Study of Peel and Leaf Oil Oil of Mandarin,
Citrus reticulata Blanco
Herein, we report investigation of the peel and leaf mandarin oils. The materials were collected fromCitrus reticulata Blanco, trees named “sweet mandarin” cultivated in Tien Giang. The oils were isolated by steam distillation using the conventional heating or the microwave irradiation. The chemical compositions of these oils were determined by GC-MS. The main constituent in the peel oil was limonene (94%) and in the leaf oil were linalool (31%), β-pinene (26%), β-elemene (11%). The physico-chemical values of these oils were identified. Their antimicrobial activities were also investigated.
