Study on anti - inflammatory effect and acute toxicity of Lignum Dracaenae cambodianae
The aqueous and ethanol extracts of Lignum Dracaenae cambodianae in dose of 8g/kg body weight exert the acute anti-inflammatory effect at 5h in the carrageenan- induced rat paw edema test and at 3h and 5h after injuring rat’s hind paw by a 100g- weight falling from 50cm- height in the experimentally-induced traumatism test. In the dose of 20g/kg body weight, the aqueous extract of Lignum Dracaenae cambodianae showed the anti- polyarthritis effect in the days 16- 21 on Streptococcus pyogenes- induced polyarthritis model. We have not found the oral LD50 of Lignum Dracaenae cambodianae in mice.
Key words: Lignum Dracaenae cambodianae, carrageenan- induced rat paw edema, Streptococcus pyogenes, polyarthritis, acute toxicity, LD50.
