Study on Choleretic, Anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant Effects of a Traditional Remedy for the Treatment of Hepatitis

This remedy consists of Herba Adenosmatis caerulei, Anisomelis ovatae, Cortex Phellodendri, Rhizoma Curcumae longae, Radix Angelicae, sinensis, Flos Sophorae, Radix Rehmanniae, Radix Paeoniae and Fructus Gardeniae. Ethanol 70⁰ extract of the remedy was concentrated into liquid extract 2:1 for investigation on choleretic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities. The results showed that this remedy 10g/kg, increases biliary flow by 48.83% and decreases carrageenan –induced rat paw edema by 28.84%. It also exhibits antioxidant effect.
