Establishment of processing method of Radix Aconiti carmichaelii lateralis in Sa Pa
Studies on processing of Radix Aconiti carmichaelii lateralis planted in Sa Pa (Lao Cai) by traditional methods were carried out. Radix Aconiti were soaked in the sodium and magnesium chloride solutions until having only slightly pungent and numb taste or complete loss of this taste after 10 days. Analysis of the chemical composition showed that contents of total alcaloids and diester alcaloids were reduced. Radix Aconiti which was processed by different procedures exhibited different cardiotonic action. The assay of acute toxicity showed that no mouse was dead in the oral dose of 360g radix Aconiti being processed by this method per kg body weight of mouse.
