\n\tCytotoxic Activity and Apoptotic Induction Effect of Xanthone component Extracted from Garcinia mangostana on Cancer Cell Line.
\n\tXanthones and α-mangostin extracted from Garcinia mangostana were tested for cytotoxicity on HeLa and A549 cell lines by WST-1 method, and evaluated for the potential of apoptotic induction effect by using Western blot method and cell morphology assay. The results showed that xanthone component has antiproliferative activity both on HeLa and A549 cell lines at the IC50 of 10.4 µg/ml and 7.7 µg/ml, 5.2 µg/ml and 13.6 µg/ml in xanthones and α-mangostin, respectively. The results of Western blot and cell morphology assays indicated that xanthone component has remarkable apoptotic induction effect on HeLa cell line.
