\n\tStudy on Essential Oil of Chamomile Flower Matricaria chamomilla L.

\n\tMatricaria chamomilla L. belongs to the Asteraceae family. The essential oil of chamomile flower, grown in Lam Dong, was extracted by hydrodistillation with conventional heating or microwave irradiation. The physical and chemical properties of the oil were measured. GC/MS analysis of the oil’s chemical composition (fresh flower with conventional heating) shows the main components are chamazulen (15.65%) (which makes the blue color for the oil), α-bisabolol (12.17%), bisabolol oxyde A (35.69%) and B (12.76%). Effected factors on the oil yield and its antibacterial properties were studied.
