The Results of Survey on Medicinal Plants and Experiences of Using Medicinal Plants

of the Thai People at the Buffer Zone of Pu Huong Nature Reserve Area,

Nghe An Province

Pu Huong Nature Reserve Area possesses abundant resources of medicinal plants with 374 species, belonging to 127 families. Among them, there are 16 threatened species. Some popular species with large capacity can be exploited restrictively. In the buffer zones of Pu Huong NR, the Thai people have many experiences of using medicinal plants for treatments of some common diseases. Based on the results of survey there are 45 medicinal plants that supplement more uses and 9 species are reported for the first time as medicinal plants of Vietnam.
