Investigation on Chemical Constituents of Passiflora foetida - Passifloraceae

Passiflora foetida is used in folk medicine for treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, cardiac arrthymia and tension-related asthma. In this study, aerial parts of P. foetidais extracted, compared chemical constituents from stems and leaves. Vitexin and xylosyl vitexin from leaves were isolated, purified and their structures were assigned  by ESI - MS and MNR.
