Summary
Research on Phenolic Compounds from Adenosma bracteosum Bonati
Adenosma bracteosum Bonati-Scrophulariaceae, has been widely used in traditional medicine for prevention and treatment of digestion, liver and gall diseases. The plant has attracted the attention of many scientists all over the world for its antihepatitis and hepatoprotective activities against harmful chemicals. The aim of this study is to study on the isolation and the elucidation of the chemical structure of the polyphenolic compounds extracted from Adenosma bracteosum. From Adenosma bracteosum Bonati – Scrophulariaceae, a polyphenol compound was isolated and structurally identified by using UV, IR, NMR spectra. It is a flavon compound, namely scutellarein-6-O-glycoside. Scutellarein has been known in nature, but scutellarein-6-O-glycoside have not yet been found. This is therefore the first isolation and identification of scutellarein-6-O-glycoside from Adenosma bracteosum Bonati growing in Vietnam.
Key words:Adenosma bracteosum, Scrophulariaceae, flavonoid, scutellarein-6-O-glycoside.
