Norproaporphine Alkaloid (+)-stepharine and Benzyl Isoquinoline Alkaloid Orientaline from the Tuber of Stephania brachyandra Diels

Phytochemical study on Vietnamese Stephania brachyandra led to the isolation of two alkaloids (+)-stepharine (1) and orientaline (2). Their structures were characterized on the basis of the spectroscopic data in comparison with these in the literature. This is the first report of 1 from Stephania brachyandra, and 2 from Stephania species.
