Summary
Coumarins from Fruits of Cnidium monnieri
For the first time, the chemical constituents and biological activity of the fruits of Cnidium monnieri growing in Bacninh, Vietnam have been investigated. Four coumarins, including osthole (1), isopimpinellin (2), xanthotoxol (3) and imperatorin (4) were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of the fruits of Cnidium monnieri (Apiaceae). Their structures were determined by mass, 1D and 2D NMR spectra. Osthole and isopimpinellin exhibited antimicrobial activity with the MIC values of 25 - 50 μg/ml against almost of studied strains.
