An improved method for the extraction of lactone compounds from Andrographis paniculata leaves includes extracting raw materials with ethanol 95%, removing coloured and others unwanted compounds by activated charcoal and recrystallization. The extraction is maintaining at boiling point for 90 min or at room temperature for 24h. The leaves should not be milled before extraction. The preferable ratio of the solvent to raw materials is 6L/1kg.
