Major Lignans from the Seeds of Vietnamese Plant Myristica fragrans (nutmeg)
Four major lignans (1−4) were isolated from the seeds of Myristica fragrans (nutmeg) collected in Vietnam. The structures of these compounds were identified as meso-dihydroguairetic acid (1), macelignan (2), fragransin A2 (3), and nectandrin B (4) based on their physicochemical and spectroscopic analyses. This is the first report on the phytochemicals of nutmeg collected in Vietnam.
