Research on Chemical Composition and Some Biological Effects of Remedy
“Nhan Tran Cao Thang Modified”
The herbal remedy consists of herba Adenosmatis caerulei 24g, fructus Gardeniae 12g, radix Rhei 8g. Antranoid, flavonoid, tanin, organic acid, caroten, iridoid were found in liquid extract of remedy. Content of total flavonoid, antranoid were determined being 1,37%, and 1,95% calculated by dried extract absolutely.
- The pharmacognosy components in remedy can be determined by TLC
The liquid extract 1:1 (w/v) of remedy administrated to mice in dose 0.36 ml/20 g body weight for 9 consecutive days decreased serum ALT by 20.43% (p < 0.05), increased protein by 3.44% (p > 0.05). When the mouse were administrated with dose 0.36 ml/20 g body weight in three days consecutively, the mass of bile was increased 60.1% (p< 0.05). Toxicity of liquid extract of remedy is very low, with LD50= 186.5 g/kg body weight. (dose is calculated according to dried ingredients).
