Isolation and Structure Identification of some Compounds from Abelmoschus sagittifolius Kurz Growing at Thanh Hoa Province

Abelmoschus sagittifolius Kurz, Family Malvaceae is used as  folk remedy in Vietnam for treatment of various diseases, including peptic ulcer. The chemical constituents of Abelmoschus sagittifolius Kurz have not been investigated until now. From chloroform extract of radix of Abelmoschus sagittifolius Kurz, 5 compounds were isolated. Based on IR,MS, NMR spectroscopic data and in comparison with reported data, these compounds were determined ventricosin A (4(15),7(11)-eudesmadien-8-on), 4 (15)-eudesmen-11-ol, tagitinin A, b-sitosterol (stigmast-5-en-3b-ol) and b-sitosterol -3-O-glucopyranosid.
