Summary
Results of Fractionating Ribonuclease
from Cobra Venom by Ammonium Sulfate
Fractionating proteins from cobra venom (Naja naja) by ammonium sulfate revealed that all the protein fractions, obtained in the intervals of salt concentrations from 35% up to 805% of saturation, possessed ribonucleolytic activity, but a main portion of the enzyme existed in the protein fraction precipitated in salt concentrations of 35-50% of saturation, The obtained results allowed to conclude that protein fractionation by ammonium sulfate is not suitable as a stage for purification of RNase from cobra venom, However these data confirmed existence of cobra venom RNase in multiple molecular forms.
