Antibacterial activity of flavonoids extracted from the inflorescence of Chrysanthemum indicum

Summary

Chrysanthemum indicum Linne (CI) has a long history for treatment of inflammation, hypertention and respiratory diseases in traditional medicine in China. Vietnam and some other Asian countries. Previous studies have reported that CI posseses the antibacteria, antivirus, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties (1,2). Phytochemical profile of this plant has showed the presence of flavonoids, terpenoids and phenolic compounds (3).

In the present study, we screened the antibacterial and antifungal properties of some flavonoid extracts from CI, collected in Nghia Trai village, Hung Yen province, Vietnam.
