\n\tAndrogenic Effect of a Soluble Combined Tea From the Extracts of Schisandra chinensis and Panax ginseng

\n\tAndrogenic effect of an instant combined tea from the extracts of Schisandra chinensis (10%) and Panax ginseng (1%) was studied in normal mice and castrated mice. An increase of the weight of male sexual organs (seminal vesicles and prostate glands) was used as an index of androgenic effect. On the other hand, an increase of levator ani muscle weight was used as an index of anabolic activity. In normal mice, the tea produced the androgenic effect and  anabolic activity at the dose of 1.5 g/kg. In castrated mice, the tea had the androgenic effect and anabolic activity at the dose of 0.5 g/kg.
