Synthesis of Ether Derivatives from Quercetin and
Determination of Their Cytotoxic Activity
We synthesized 4 ether derivatives of quercetin and determined their structure by using physical chemistry analyses (IR, LC-MS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, HSQC, HMBC). The result in the study of cytotoxic activity of these products showed that only 3,3’,4’,5,7-pentamethoxyflavon exhibited cytotoxic activity like quercetin, however, its IC50 values were higher on HeLa, MCF-7, NCI-H460 tumor cells, than these of quercetin the other synthetic compounds (just tested at 10 mg/ml) had weak activity.
