Cytotoxic Sanggenon C and O From Morus alba

From the MeOH extract of the twigs and leaves of Morus alba, two Diels-Alder type adducts were isolated. Their structures were identified as sanggenon C (1) and O (2) by means of spectroscopic method including UV, ESI-MS, and NMR. Both compounds showed strong cytoxicity against human hepatocarcinoma Hep3B, human cervical cancer HeLa and human gastric cancer AGS cells.
