Summary
Study on Mycoflora in Semen Platycladi Orientalis
Collected from the Traditional Herbal Stores in Hanoi
The mycological analysis of fifteen samples of Semen Platycladi orientalis collected from the traditional herbal stores in Hanoi by the direct planting technique indicated that this substrate has a wide range of mould species and counts. Twelve species belonging to 8 genera were collected on PDA medium. Aspergillus was the most predominant genus and encountered in 12/15 samples. From the genus 5 species were indentified of which A. parasiticus, A. niger and A. fumigatus were the most common. They occurred in 53, 60 and 40% of the samples comprising 42, 36 and 7% of total fungal isolates, respectively. These results showed that this substrate could be sensitive to mycotoxins produced by species of the genus Aspergillus.
