\n\tAcute and Subchronic Toxicity of a Preparation Extracted from a
\n\tTraditional Anti-Rheumatoid Arthritic Remedy
\n\tA preparation extracted from a traditional anti-rheumatoid arthritic remedy has been experimentally evaluated for acute and subchronic oral toxicity in mice and rabbits. The results indicated that LD50 of the preparation in mice is equivalent to 407.5 g dried raw material /kg body weight. In the subchronic study, rabbits were orally given the dose equivalent to 20g raw material /kg body weight/per day for 30 days. After 15, 30 and 45 days, blood and liver and kidney tissue samples were taken for hematological, biochemical and histopathological assays. All parameters showed no significant difference between treatment and control groups.
