Effect of Mixed Crude extracts (Ginkgo biloba Lin., Radix Astragali, Radix Salviae miltiorhizae, Radix Angelicae sinensis) on some Parameters Including Heart Contraction,

Blood Pressure and Blood Coagulation in Rat

Researches to find out traditional medicines that have effective treatment on brain circulatory insufficiency are being interested. Healthy rat were divided into two groups, including positive control group used p.o Ginkgo biloba extract with the dose of 24 mg/kg/day and treated group used p.o. mixed crude extracts with the dose of 152 mg/kg/day). Animals in both groups undergone surgery for vertebral arteries narrowed. After recovery (2 weeks), tail blood pressure, heart contraction and blood coagulation tests were performed before and after oral administration. The heart contraction was expressed by measuring the right intra-atrial and mitra-ventricular pressure. The results showed that mixed crude extracts(Ginkgo biloba Lin., Radix Astragali, Radix Salviae miltiorhizae, Radix Angelicae sinensis) ameliorated brain circulatory insufficiency; increased heart contraction; increased prothrombia time but there was no change in arterial blood pressure.
