Accumulation by Immersion Bioreactor Technique

The improved MS media was set up with 26 ± 2 oC of temperate room, 16 hours of fluorescent lighting and pH = 6 enhanced the artemisinin accumulation up to 1.982%; combined with immersion bioreactor set up to sink/floating (15/45 minutes) increased artemisinin accumulation up to 2.088%. Yeast extract or chitosan used as elicitors stimulate significantly the artemisinin accumulation. Hairy-roots cultures of Artemisia annua L. for artemisinin production by bioreactor techniques were established.
