Summary

The n-hexan extract from Gynura sarmentosa DC. growing in Vietnam was subjected to repeated flash chromatography on silica gel to give d-tocotrienol [2,8-dimethyl-2-(4,8,12-trimethyltrideca-3,7,11-trienyl)-6-chromanol] besides two triterpens and two sterols. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic studies.
