Summary

Analysis of Pesticide Residues in Betel’s Extract (Piper betle L. Piperaceae) by GC - MS/MS Method

This research studied the sample’s process and qualification of pesticide residues in betel’s extract by GC - MS/MS. The pesticide residues were extracted by modified QuEChERS: using 1% of acid acetic in acetonitrile (ACN) as extracted solvent; separating the ACN layer and water layer by using mix of MgSO4 4 g and NaCl 1 g; cleaning - up by dSPE (MgSO4 1 g, PSA 0.4 g, C18 0.4 g) and liquid - liquid partition technique with n - hexane and NaCl 20% (w/v). Basing on the guideline of AOAC 2016 and EC 2018, the quantified method showed good results of system suitability, specificity, linearity within the concentration range of 0 - 200 ppb (R2 >0.99), repeatability (RSD < 20%), and recovery (63.84 - 106.06%). Therefore, the analytical method can be applied for quantifying the pesticide residues in betel’s extract which contributes to quality control and standardization of the betel’s extract.
