ANALYSIS ON GENETIC DIVERSITY AMONG GERMPLASMS OF CURCULIGO ORCHIOIDES COLLECTED IN VIETNAM USING RAPD

Analysis on Genetic Diversity Among Germplasms of Curculigo orchioides Collected in Vietnam Using RAPD
In the present study, genetic diversity among 21 germplasm resources of Curculigo orchioides collected from 15 provinces/cities in Vietnam was analyzed using RAPD marker. A total of 78 bands were detected using10 primers, among which 60 were polymorphic bands. The average percentage of polymorphic bands was 79.54%. Bands ranged from 100 bp to 1500 bp. The coefficient of genetic similarity among 21 germplasm changed from 0.44 to 0.84, an average of 0.64. PIC index ranged from 0.24-0.41, an average of 0.39. The genetic relationship among 21 germplasms was divided into 3 groups: The first group includes SC17, SC18, SC19; The second group includes SC21; the third group including SC1, SC2, SC8, SC10, SC3, SC5, SC4, SC9, SC11, SC12, SC6, SC13, SC14, SC15, SC16, and SC20. Thus, genetic diversity levels among 21 germplasms of C. orchioides collected from 15 provinces/cities in Vietnam were high and RAPD was a good molecular marker to study the genetic diversity of this species.
