Summary
Cembranoid Constituents from the Soft Coral Sarcophyton infundibuliforme
Five cembranoids were isolated from the methanolic extract of the Vietnamese soft coral Sarcophyton infundibuliforme using combined chromatographic experiments. Their chemical structures were elucidated as sarcrassin D (1), emblide (2), 7α,8β-dihydroxydeepoxysarcophine (3), lobocrasol B (4), and sarcophine (5) on the basis of detailed analysis of the 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic data in comparison with the literature values. This is the first report of these compounds from the soft coral Sarcophyton infundibuliforme.
