Summary
Chemical Composition of the Aerial Parts of Piper sarmentosum Roxb., Piperaceae
From dichloromethane and ethyl acetate extracts of Piper sarmentosum Roxb., six compounds were isolated (1-6). Their chemical structures were identified as α-asarone (1), 5-phenyl-3-pentenamide (2), piperlotine B (3), quercetin (4), rutin (5), and β-sitosterol (6), based on spectral data and literature references. Compound 2 was isolated from this plant for the first time.
