Summary
Chemical Constituents from Leaf of Carica papaya
Carica papaya leaves have been used as folk remedies to treat cancer in Australia, Brazil and Vietnam. It is widely planted in tropical and subtropical countries. Four flavonoids were isolated from the leaves of Carica papaya as kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-α-L-rhamnopyranoside (1), quercetin 3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), kaempferol 3-O-(2″,6″-di-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranoside) (3), and quercetin 3-O-(2″,6″-di-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranoside (4). These flavonoids are described for the first from C.papaya in Vietnam.
