Summary

Flavonoids from Leaf of Persimmon (Diospyros kaki L.f.)

The dried leaves of persimmon (Diospyros kaki L.f.), traditionally consumed as a herbal tea in China, Korea, and Japan, contain bioactive galloylated compounds, flavonol glycosides. Seven flavonoid glycosides including hyperoside (1), isoquercetin (2), quercetin-3-O-(2″-O-galloyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), trifolin (4), astragalin (5), kaempferol-3-O-(2″-O-galloyl-β-D-galactopyranoside (6), and kaempferol-3-O-(2″-O-galloyl-β-D-glucopyrannoside (7) were isolated. The structures of these compounds were established using detailed spectroscopic analysis and by comparison with those of published data. This study represents the first report of the isolation of the flavonoid glycosides from the leaves of persimmon in Vietnam.
