Summary
Phenolic Compounds from Curculigo orchioides
Six compounds were isolated from ethyl acetate and n-butanol fractions from the rhizome of Curculigo orchioides Gaertn. (Hypoxidaceae). Their chemical structures were identified as curculigoside A (1), curculigoside B (2), orcinol β-D-glucoside (3), orcinol gentiobioside (4), glucosyringic acid (5) and vanillic acid 4-O-β-D-glucoside (6) by NMR, MS spectroscopic data and comparison with the reported literature. Compound 6 was isolated for the first time from this plant.
Keywords: Curculigo orchioides, Curculigoside, Glucosyringic acid, Orcinol, phenolic compounds, Vanillic acid.
