PHYTOCHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS FROM THE LEAVES

Phytochemical Constituents from the Leaves of Senna alata (L.) Roxb.
This study was conducted to isolate seven compounds, β-sitosterol (1), aloe-emodin (2), kaempferol (3), 1,3,8-trihydroxyanthraquinone (4), cassiaphenone A 2-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (5), kaempferol 3-O-gentiobioside (6), and kaempferol 3-O-β-[β-(6¢¢¢-O-acetyl)-D glucopyrano(1→6)]-D-glucopyranoside (7) from the ethanol extract of the leaves of Senna alata (L.) Roxb. (Muồng trâu). Their structures were identified by spectral data analyses and comparison with references. Compounds 4, 5, and 7 were reported for the first time from this plant.
