Summary
Quality Evaluation of Centella asiatica from Varied Geographical Areas in Vietnam
by RP-HPLC/DAD and Chemometrics
Quality of Centella asiatica samples collected from varied geographical areas in Vietnam were evaluated based on non-target peaks and asiaticoside content by a reversed phase HPLC/DAD method. The results indicated that there are differences in the chemical compositions between the samples collected in different regions of Vietnam. The content of asiaticoside, a major bioactive compound of Centella asiatica, ranged from 0.07% to 1.19%. The PCA-DA method on the non-target peaks showed a fairly good classification for the samples collected in Red River Delta, Northeast, South and North Central regions.
