Kết quả định tính sơ bộ thành phần hóa học phần trên mặt đất của cây chùa dù (Elsholtzia penduliflora W.W. Smith) cho thấy sự có mặt của các nhóm chất: flavonoid, saponin, triterpenoid, phytosterol, coumarin, acid amin, đường khử tự do và anthranoid. Ngoài ra, nghiên cứu tinh dầu chùa dù cho thấy 1,8-cineol là thành phần chính và có hàm lượng cao nhất. Từ phân đoạn n-hexan của cao chiết ethanol 80% đã phân lập được năm hợp chất tectochrysin (1), β-sitosterol (2), daucosterol (3), acid hyptadienic (4) và acid trans-cinnamic (5). Cấu trúc hóa học của các hợp chất này được xác định dựa trên cơ sở các dữ kiện phổ thực nghiệm và so sánh với số liệu đã công bố.

Summary
Chemical Constituents of the Essential Oil and n-Hexane Fraction from the Aerial Parts
of Elsholtzia penduliflora W.W. Smith
Phytochemical investigation of Elsholtzia penduliflora W.W. Smith has shown the presence of flavonoid, saponin, triterpenoid, phytosterol, coumarin, amino acid, polysaccharide, and anthranoide. In addition, research on the essential oil of E. penduliflora showed that 1,8-cineol was the main component and had the highest content. Five compounds: tectochrysin (1), β-sitosterol (2), daucosterol (3), hyptadienic acid (4), and trans-cinnamic acid (5) were isolated from the n-hexane fraction of E. penduliflora W.W. Smith (Lamiaceae).
