Summary
Investigation of Chemical Composition of Chlorophytum laxum R.Br.root
By various chromatography methods, one new and three known compounds were isolated from the methanol extract of the roots from Chlorophytum laxum R. Br. (Athericaceae). The new structure was determined to be 3-O-(6’-O-hexadecanoyl-b-D-galactopyranoside)-stigmast-5-en-3-ol (1), three known compounds were identified as stigmas-5-en-3b-ol (2), 1,2-di-O-(9Z,12Z,15Z-octadecatrienoyl)-3-O-b-D-galactopyranosylglycerol (3) and methyl caffeate (4) by using combination of IR, ESI and NMR techniques including 1D- and 2D-NMR. Compounds 2-4 were first isolated from C. laxum.
