Isolation and Identification of Some Flavonoids from Chrysanthemum indicum L. Cultivated in Vietnam
The flowers of Chrysanthemum indicum have been used as an herbal tea for long time in China, Vietnam and some other Asian countries. In Vietnam, they are widely cultivated in Hanoi, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh. In this study we have collected the flowers grown in Nghia Trai, Hung Yen and their antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, anti-HIV activities have been investigated. Aiming to determine their active principles being reponsible for these activities, some flavonoids have been isolated from this medicinal material. From the ethyl acetate fraction, three flavons Apigenin, Luteolin and Luteolin-7-O-b-D-glucopyranoside have been isolated and identified based on their 1H and 13C-NMR spectra using ESI-MSD and DAD.
