Effect of Pinching and Trenching on Growth, Development and Yield
of Chrysanthemum indicum at Gia Lam Ha Noi
The experiment was conducted at experimental field, Faculty of Agronomy, HUA to identify the effect of number of times of pinching (N0, N1, N2) and trenching (D0, D1 and D2). The experiment was designed by Split – plot with 3 replications. The results showed that: increasing the number of times of pinching and trenching increases the growth period. The longest growth period obtained at N2D2 treatment (168 days). The high number of primary branches, secondary branches, Leaf area index obtained at N1D1>N1D2 >N2D1) appropriating for the growth ofChrysanthemum.
Net flower yield and economic efficiency obtained at N1D1, N1D2 and N2D1 treatments were higher than those at the other treatments. The highest flower yield was at N1D1 treatment (953 kg/ha).
Pinching and trenching in time are the optimal techniques to obtain high yield of flower from Chrysanthemum indicum plants.
