Preliminary Study on the Chemical Constituents from the Leaves of

Embelia undulata (Wall.) Mez, Myrsinaceae in Vietnam

The first study on the phytochemistry of Embelia undulata (Wall.) Mez growing in Vietnam has been done. Three compounds: catechin (1), β-sitosterol (2) and β-sitosterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (3) were isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction of methanol extract of the leaves of Embelia undulata (Wall.) Mez. The structures of these compounds were determined by spectroscopic methods.
