Of these ten compounds, only oxostephanine isolated from the tubers of Stephania dielsiana C.Y. Wu. has cytotoxyc activity in liver, lung and pericardium cancer cells with the 50% inhibitory concentrations (IC₅₀) being 0.566; 1.404 and 0.755 mg/ml, respectively
