Study on the effects of Ganoderma lucidum (Leys. ex Fr.) Karst. ; G. applanatum (Pers.) Pat.; G. lobatum (Schw.) Atk. on scopolamine-induced impairment of learning and memory
Morris water maze method was used to investigate the effects of three species of Ganoderma on scopolamine-induced impairment of learning and memory. Scopolamine administered intraperitoneally at the dose of 2 mg/kg induced the increase of escape latency and the decrease of swimming time in the platform area. The results revealed that the water extract as well as the ethanol extract of Ganoderma lucidum has the improving effects on scopolamine-induced impairment of learning and memory. Other extracts from Ganoderma applanatum (Pers.) Pat. and Ganoderma lobatum (Schw.) Atk. have no significant effect on scopolamine-induced impairment of learning and memory.
