Summary
Study on Chemical Constituents of Essential Oil from the Rhizomes of Dianella ensifolia (L.) DC
This work deals with qualitative and quantitative study of essential oils from the rhizomes of Dianella ensifolia (L.) DC collected in Vietnam. The results showed that total amount of essential oils of the rhizomes of D. ensifolia collected in Thai Binh and Hanoi were 0,21% ± 0,03 and 0,24% ± 0,04, respectively. Phytochemical investigation by GCMS indicated that essential oils from both samples containmore than thirty constituents. Of these, 26 components were qualitatively and quantitatively characterized, which represented about 95% of the essential oils content. The major constituents are monoterpenes, including piperitenon (29,01% and 28,72%), thymoquinon (6,50 and 6,61%), curdion (13,40 and 11,82%), verbenon (7,75 and 7,94%) and isogeraniol (5,15 and 5,28%).
