Chemical Constituents of the Leaf Exudate of Aloe barbadensis Miller

Two anthraquinones and one flavonoid were isolated from leaf exudates of Aloe barbadensisMiller in Ho Chi Minh city as: (10S)-10-C-β-D-glucopyranosyl-1,8-dihydroxy-3-hydroxymethyl-9(10H)-anthracenone (Aloin A); 1,8-dihydroxy-3-hydroxymethyl-9,10-anthracenedione (Aloe emodin) and Apigenin from exudate (yellow sap). The structures of these compounds have been elucidated by modern spectral methods as: ¹H-NMR, ¹³C-NMR, DEPT, NOESY, COSY, HMBC and HSQC.
