Summary
Saponins and Phenolic Glycosides from Aerial Part of Elsholtzia penduliflora W.W. Smith
Two saponins, kaji-ichigoside F1 (1) and rosamultin (2) together with three phenolic glycosides, thymoquinol 5-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), thymoquinol 2-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (4), and foliachinenoside A1 (5) were isolated from the 80% ethanol extract of Elsholtzia penduliflora W. W. Smith (Lamiaceae). Their chemical structures were determined by using extensive NMR data and comparing them with published literature. These compounds were reported from Elsholtzia genus for the first time.
Keywords: Elsholtzia penduliflora, Kaji-ichigoside F1, Rosamultin, Thymoquinol 5-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, Thymoquinol 2-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, Foliachinenoside A1.
