TRITERPENES FROM DISCHIDIA MAJOR (VAHL) MERR.

Summary
Triterpenes from Dischidia major (Vahl) Merr.
Six compounds, 3β-taraxeryl trans-cinnamate (1), 3β-taraxeryl acetate (2), friedelin (3), 3β-friedelinol (4), β-amyrin (5) and 11α,12α-oxidotaraxerol (6) were isolated from the ethanol extract of Dischidia major (Vahl) Merr. Their structures were identified on the basis of spectroscopic data analyses and by comparison with published data. Compounds 1, 2 and 6 were reported from D. major for the first time.
